St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church

General Information

At St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church, the Oblates of the Virgin Mary reserve 4-5 Saturdays each year to provide spiritual enrichment to the people of the parish and anyone who wishes to attend.

Format

Oblate priests and brothers or other invited speakers give 3-5 spiritual reflections or teachings on a topic chosen to correspond with the current time of the liturgical year, for example: Advent, Lent, Divine Mercy, Corpus Christi, the Month of the Rosary, Devotion to Mary or St. Joseph, etc.

In addition to the talks, Holy Mass is offered, priests are available for confessions throughout the day, multiple Rosaries are recited before the Blessed Sacrament, and a holy hour of Eucharistic adoration is usually included.

The talks are recorded for purchase at or after the day of retreat. This is especially convenient for those who are unable to attend, or to give away. St. Joseph Radio  provides the recording services and also offers a Catholic bookstore and gift shop in the Old Church for the duration of the day of retreat.

Accommodations

Because these are parish retreats, most attendees live within driving distance. We do not provide or arrange for overnight accommodations to attendees. Food, however, is provided as breakfast, a mid-morning snack, lunch, and a mid-afternoon snack. The food is provided free of charge to all attendees, but advance registration is required to reserve a meal. Drinks, including water, canned soda, and coffee, are sold separately.

Registration

Advance registration is requested of all attendees to ensure adequate food is prepared, though at-the-door registration is also possible.
